Photographs of Piney Creek Ravine - Sandstone Canyon in Southern Illinois

Piney Creek Ravine is off the beaten path. It is a lovely sandstone canyon with a small creek flowing through it. The sandstone patterns in the creek bed are exquisite patterns of colors and textures. The site has archaeological significance as well. There are ancient Native American petroglyphs on the cliffs in one area of the canyon.
