The Connemara region of western Ireland is considered by many to be Ireland's "Wild West". Indeed, there is a certain wild feeling with horses seemingly wandering free along the coast and sleepy little fishing villages on quiet bays. The pace is slow and the towns are small, with fewer tourists, giving it a somewhat secluded feel as well. It is a beautiful region that I found captivating.
